A downloadable mindustry map

A Mindustry experience.

I created this map as a love letter to the game Mindustry by Anuke (yes, an actual nuke made this game! And my project is neither affiliated nor endorsed by it). I'm pretty proud of it, which is why I made this page.

Summary

You have no time to waste, as the enemy already noticed your presence. Every inch of the map is covered either by hostile bases or the ruins of those who attempted to stop them.

Pick your targets carefully, but don't wait for too long, as the mothership keeps sending waves, the factories are continuously popping out stronger and tougher units and in the center of the map a beacon, that boosts the enemy's strength is about to activate.

Properties and features

  • Giant Serpulo attack map (600x600). Probably takes more than one sitting to beat. 16 Cores to destroy on the main land, 6 more on the mothership.
  • Extreme difficulty, testing your knowledge of the game and forcing you to change strategies frequently
  • Very non-linear map-layout, ensuring replayability and multiple viable routes and strats.
  • No enemy-cheating or source blocks, only a myriad of factories for you to destroy.
  • Multiple biomes and abundant resources
  • Numerous optional side quests involving the derelict faction:
    • Read coordinates in memory banks and find hints to gain a tactical advantage.
    • Find valuable loot in self-destructing, password-protected vaults.
    • Trade rare, erekirian materials for powerful rewards
    • Befriend an adorable creature :3
    • Lots more. Like, so much more.

    The adorable creature in question

  • Many logic quirks, that make the enemy faction a lot more brutal and ruthless:

    • Threat-system, that sends waves progressively more frequently and spawns guardians as retaliation for destroyed enemy cores
    • Actually evil units (flying Velas, kamikaze Flares and much worse)
    • Enemy factories for every kind of unit on Serpulo (except for one)
    • Frequent use of turrets with status-synergies

Known Issues (won't fix)

  • Game can lag slightly in the more busy parts of the map. Most likely not suited for mobile users. In my experience it does not affect gameplay, and zooming in or pausing the game before looking around can stabilize your frames. It mostly depends on the amount of things going on on your screen.
  • Enemy pathfinding can be wonky and they might get stuck in large clumps in some places. There was only so much I could do to fix it.
  • Yes, the map is really fucking difficult, but I tried my best to make it somewhat beatable. I've tried to also cover as many skill-levels as possible, so if you're not as good using only vanilla features, try out Oscar's Quest to improve your experience.

Feedback

I made this as a study of game- and level-design, trying to keep it beatable, even if you completely ignore all the gimmicky things i added to give you advantages. If you have any feedback or got hopelessly stuck and confused in places, i'd love to know, so i can do it better next time. I'm not a pro-pvp-player, really bad at action economy etc, so if you know more, you can comment in the steam workshop or start a thread here. Thankies!
